I love to read ghazals. Urdu has been my second language in school. It was easily my best subject. But we study urdu only from a lower level. Actually its tougher than hindi, yet very beautiful. Urdu poetry is usually rich in the themes of love , romance and life.It has a philosophical aspect too. There are different types of urdu poetry like nazm, ghazal, rubaiyat etc. The ghazal i am goin 2 post is the one i came across when reading an urdu magazine long ago. i collected it. Dil aap dhadaktha hein ,dhadkaya nahin jata
yeh raaz mohabbat har ek ko bataaya nahin jata

agar ehsaas ho tho mohabbat ko karlo mehsoos

yeh woh jazba hein jo lafzon mein samjhaya nahin jata

Dosti ke liye mohabbat aur khuloos hein lazim!
har haath milaane waale ko dosth samjhaya nahin jata

bahut kam hein log jo dil mein uthar jate hein

har raah chalte ko apna banaaya nahin jata!

koshishon se badal jati hein thaqdeerein khanim
de kar ilzam kismat ko dil ko behlaaya nahin jata
